7 Things You Need to Know about Me!

BeFunky-collage-29.jpg

Hello Everyone! This blog post is the third part of my 7 Things Series, I did one on Feminism and one on Sustainable Fashion, but today I wanted to do something a little more chill and laid back. This post is all about me and some fun stuff about me. I do have an about page, but this is more of an updated and random version. There are going to be selfies, pictures of my kitty😸, and a lot of food🍫☕️. I’m becoming more comfortable with showing my face and the next step is showing who I am. When you are done reading this, comment something that we NEED to know about you! Enjoy!

Chinna is wearing a sheer, sparkly, light purple dress with solid, light purple polka dots made from sparkle net material. On his head is a purple paper crown accented with white pom poms. In his paw is a purple staff. You can tell by now…his favorite color is purple.

Dress:

I made the dress from my sister’s old skirt. First, I measured my cat’s neck. Then, I cut the skirt in half. Following that, I cut the skirt so it measured the length of his neck plus 2 inches. I did not want it to be too short after I hemmed it. The top and bottom were already hemmed. I turned it over so the seam that was already there was on the outside, facing me. After that, I sewed the ends together. I turned the skirt inside out so that the seams were on the inside. When I tested it on him, he kept tripping, so I trimmed it only in the front section.

Crown:

Step 1) Cut a piece of construction paper in half horizontally. You will only be working with one half of the original paper for this project.

Step 2) Leave the bottom edge of your newly cut paper straight, as it is. Draw the crown point design along the top of the paper,  and cut along the lines in somewhat of a zigzag or triangular fashion.

Step 3) Measure your pet’s head to see where the crown will need to overlap and be glued or taped.

Step 4) Decorate!

Step 5) Use tacky glue or tape to add pom poms on each of the crown’s points.

Staff:

Step 1) Find a paper towel roll.

Step 2) Choose 2 pieces of colored paper. I recommend construction paper for its durability.

Step 3) Wrap the papers around the towel roll and tape the sides.

Step 4) Fringe around the the top of the paper towel roll with a scissor (only one opening of the roll). Cut about a half of an inch deep.

Step 5) Buy or find a  foam ball (I love to reuse and recycle objects, so be creative!) and place it in the tube. It has to be bigger than the top of the roll.

Step 6) To secure the ball to the  top of the staff, tape or glue each fringed piece of roll to the ball.

My cat Chinna loved the outfit so much he fell fast asleep in it! He sometimes gets his arm out through the neckhole. I might hem it later to fit more snuggly.

The dress can also be worn like a collar or scarf! Just fold the top of the dress over and pull it towards the neck.
