Hello Everyone! Today’s post is the December part of my 7 Things series. I did a post on Feminism, All About Me, Sustainable Fashion, and now holiday movies. I found some iconic and some of my favorite movies of all time into one list. I’m sure a lot of you guys have seen some of these movies, but this is just a reminder that it’s finally that time of year. Watching Holiday movies all year round is fine, but now, everyone can go crazy. When you are done reading this, comment your fav holiday movie. Enjoy!
Elf. These movies aren’t in any specific order, but I wanted to start the list with an ICONIC movie. It’s a movie that everyone has to watch. My family watches at least once a year *sometimes more*, it’s like a tradition now. The movie is festive and really funny. Quick recap: Buddy is an elf, but has felt out of place his whole life. He goes to New York to find his dad.
The Holiday. This is my favorite holiday movie. I love a good rom-com. This movie is a great rom-com and holiday movie. The storyline isn’t too predictable, and it takes place in two different environments. Quick recap: it’s about to women who switch houses during the holidays, to escape their lives.
A Charlie Brown Christmas. Another traditional movie. This a feel good, innocent type of movie. My family also really loves watching this movie, not just in December, but on Thanksgiving we watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. It never gets old, so even if you have seen it, it’s fun to watch it again.
Home Alone. Sure, this movie gets a little old sometimes, but it’s one of those movies that everyone should see at least once. The dividing line between likeing and hating this line is really thin. Sometimes it’s enjoyable and at other times, not so much. Really quick recap: His parents forget him at home, and he has to deal with robbers.
Literally any Hallmark Movie. Everyone who knows me knows how much I LOVE Hallmark movies. It’s one of my favorite things about the holidays, and one of my favorite movie genres/ channels. Even though I love these movies, I can acknowledge that they all have the same plot. That’s why I can’t just pick one hallmark movie because they are all equally amazing with similar components.
Gilmore Girls, Year in the Life, WINTER. So, technically this is not a movie. It’s like a movie though, it’s around 2 hours, it’s all about Gilmore girls and the winter time, and it’s my favorite episode from the 4 episode re-boot. This “movie” is pretty self-explanatory. The Gilmore girls go through winter. (Gilmore Girls is one of the best tv shows if you didn’t know)
Finally, How The Grinch Stole Christmas. I love watching this movie. Actually, as I’m writing this, I’m listening to “Your a Mean One Mr. Grinch”. There are a lot of versions of the movie, which gives you options depending on what type of movie mood you are in. My favorite is the original, cartoon version. It really gets you in spirit and is great at uplifting you as you watch it. Quick Recap: The Grinch is really sad, so he decides to go steal Christmas from a nearby town, where he meets Cindy Lou.
I hope you enjoyed this post! One of the best parts of December are all the movies you get to watch again and all the holiday movies that come out. I don’t know about all of you, but movies are a big part of my family’s set of holiday traditions. These are great movies for getting in that Christmas and Festive mood. *Let me know, in the comments, your fav holiday movie or a movie that you or your family watch every year.* Thanks for reading! xx
