Behind the Scenes of Blogging and Instagram!

Hello Everyone! I’ve been planning to do this blog post for such a long time, because it’s a topic I’m always thinking about. What readers and followers see is only one side of the story. There is so much that goes into an Instagram or Blog post. And sometimes, the truth is really surprising, like where the picture was taken or even how it was taken. I’m really excite going to show the reality and the process to an Instagram Picture or Blogpost. Enjoy!

LOCATION! I have a really busy schedule, and the people in my life have different schedules, so it can be hard to go and find places to take pictures. My (younger/only) sister  is my photographer, so photo shoots also have to match with her mood. Most of my pictures are taken within walking distance of my house. This picture of my ice coffee looks really nice and fancy, but the truth is…….. it was taken in front of a tree in front of my house. But no one really needs to know that on Instagram.

What You See Vs. What I See. The picture I posted on Instagram looks very clean and was taken in a more professional setting. I set out poster board, and an old blanket to create a nice background. It was actually in my sister’s room, while we were painting her room. So I see a half painted room, with an old blanket and poster board, but you see a Bullet Journal on a neat background. (I also got to experience my sister complaining how her back was hurting while she took the picture, lol)

Planning Ahead of Time. Sometimes planning ahead of time can be hard, especially during the year (school year). A lot of things often change in my schedule, and on Monday, I will plan to take pictures on Tuesday, and before I know it, it’s Saturday and I have no pics for Sunday. I think I’m getting a lot better at planning for things WAY in advance, before the blog post. That doesn’t always happen tho. As much as I don’t like to admit it, sometimes I take pictures the day before the post goes up.

Organization. I wish I could say that I’m always organized 100% of the time, but I’m not. I have sticky notes and scraps of paper everywhere, where I write down notes or ideas. While I was working on THIS post, I had some more pictures I needed to take, so I wrote it down on a scrap. There actually is a place in my bullet journal for blogging notes, but I wasn’t near it, and the ideas were all coming to me. I jot things down whenever/wherever they come to

Working With What You Got! I don’t live in an area that has  a lot of “Instagramable picture spots”. But, I do have a cute comforter. It photographs really well, and it’s pretty much all I have available photo shoot wise. .

I hope you enjoyed this post! The Blogging and Instagram world is so interesting, especially if you get to witness both sides of it. There are a lot of things that readers don’t see, that I think can be really funny. I am a reader and a blogger because I do follow a lot of blogs. So, I get to see both sides of everything. Let me know in the comments if you liked this post, or the style of it because I’m always open to feedback. I might do a pt 2 of this……wink…wink. Thanks for reading.

Taking good pictures for blog and IG is really hard work. Hats off to you for being passionate about it! I’ve been thinking to get into flat lay photography but I haven’t started anything yet lol
