How to make a Flannel Shirt and Shorts

IMG_8892.JPG

Hello Everyone! I have been holding onto this super cute cactus kawaii flannel fabric. I had a yard of it, so I thought it would be nice to make some shorts and a shirt out of it. I really liked the print and thought making a matching outfit would be a cute idea. It took me one evening and a morning to make.

I’m sorry I don’t have any step-by-step pictures, I was moving too fast.

The Shirt

I ran out of fabric to make a full sleeve and full length shirt. I turned it into an oversized crop top instead. I made it like a regular shirt. I traced the top of a regular shirt and the arm. When making this, make sure to make the grain line go horizontal.

The Shorts

These are really easy to make. I made them high waisted, which is why the picture makes them look so short. It has an elastic waistband. You can visit some of my earlier posts like this one .

I hope you enjoyed this post!  I had a lot of fun making this and it actually came out well. They are soft and really comfy. Remember that when working with flannel, pre-wash them before sewing because they shrink in the laundry. Have a great December.

HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!
