Hello Everyone! First, I apologize for not posting for a while. I was on vacation (without my sewing machine😥). But I’m back! So I thought I would make a post about my favorite pair of shorts. As you know, I’m love to upcycle, recycle, refashion, whatever you wanna call it. These shorts are 100% upcycled! The white parts are from an old sweater and the black parts are from an old scarf. Again, it’s an old sweater, so when I made it, the fabric had already started to fade.
My first intentions weren’t for it to be completely checkerboard. Here’s the story, I brought down a pair of shorts to trace on the fabric. After I traced it and sewed them together with the exception of the waistband, I tried them on. I realized they were too small. I did everything right and realized I traced my sisters shorts instead. I cut down the side and added panels making them checkered.
They were simple to make and I finished them within a few hours. Given that I took some Netflix and kitty breaks. Yes, Shiva constantly needs to be petted. If you want to learn how to make them, go to my blog post, HOW TO MAKE PANELED SHIRTS.
I hope you enjoyed this post!
HAVE A FASHIONABLE DAY!
